Who Are They?
PORTAL is a multi-denominational, multi-generational Contemporary Praise & Worship Band. Our mission is to share the Gospel of God’s Word & love through the musical gifts wherewith we have been blessed. PORTAL believes that worship is a lifestyle. We want to see all denominations and ages come together under the banner of praise and worship.
The name PORTAL comes from two different scriptures. In John 10:9 Jesus said, “I am the door…”. Strong’s Concordance explains the meaning of the word ‘door’ is ‘portal’. Jesus is the portal that non-Christians must use to get into God’s presence.
Ps. 100:4 says….”Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise…”. Praise & Worship is the portal that Christians use to get into God’s presence.
PORTAL came together in the summer of 1999 at a small Christian Coffee House in Parkersburg, WV. Since then, we have had the privilege of leading worship at many different churches, youth events, fairs, festivals, television shows and conventions.
PORTAL is comprised of several family members and friends from various denominational backgrounds. We have been privileged most of our lives to use our talents for the glory of God.
Portal does both Praise & Worship and Chriatian Rock as well as offering sound reinforcement.
